First European Ecocycles Conference

Organized by the European Ecocycles Society (ECyS)

July 29 - August 2, 2013, Palermo, Italy

The conference was held on the campus of the University of Palermo, and focussed on the theoretical and practical aspects of ecological cycles and their relationship with sustainability.

Conference chairs were Prof. Dr. Jonathan Gressel (Weizmann Institute of Science, Rehovot, Israel), Prof. Dr. Tamas Nemeth (General Secretary of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, Budapest, Hungary), and Prof. Dr. Carmelo D'Azzi (Department of Agroenvironmental Systems, University of Palermo, Italy).

Basic research together with field applications were emphasized, along with laboratory, pilot, and modeling studies leading to innovative approaches. Platform and poster presentations were selected by the Scientific Advisory Board of the conference from the abstracts submitted for consideration.
